Tourist arrivals to Cuba from this destination are growing faster than anywhere else.
No, not the United States — at least not yet, although tourism from America is reportedly up by 36 percent.
It’s Venezuela, which is sending 83.4 percent more visitors to Cuba this year than in the first four months of 2014, according to data from Cuba’s National Statistical Office.
In the January-April period, Cuba received 9,005 tourists from Venezuela, up from 4,910 a year ago.
That makes Venezuela the island’s fastest-growing source market, followesd by Brazil, from which tourism is up by 68 percent so far this year.
